As you may know, browsing the web without safety precautions exposes your privacy and activities to severe risks: you might unintentionally stumble upon a website that contains malware, people in your organization might browse inappropriate sites such as pornographic websites, and your IT resources could be flooded by unnecessary web content like ads. CacheGuard Web Gateway addresses these problems by providing total control over the web content browsed in your organization.
The antivirus inspects web traffic at the gateway and eradicates all dangerous content before it can enter your network. Stumbled upon a web page on the darknet? Received an email with a suspicious link that you accidentally clicked? CacheGuard instantly blocks the suspicious content and logs the access attempt.
SSL Inspection
SSL Inspection enables the decryption of encrypted web traffic (HTTPS) at the gateway to eradicate dangerous content. An integrated PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) allows you to locally generate your private CA certificate and its associated private key to facilitate integration into your network.
URL Filtering
URL Filtering blocks access to unwanted URLs. To do so, it uses blacklists, whitelists, and regular expressions to allow or disallow access to websites, thereby increasing productivity while keeping users safe from malicious sites. When coupled with your LDAP or AD/Kerberos authentication server, URL Filtering allows you to define sophisticated web access policies tailored to your needs.
URL Blacklists
CacheGuard comes with a URL blacklists service as an option. The blacklists are updated daily and can be automatically downloaded to a CacheGuard appliance on a daily or weekly basis. Additionally, CacheGuard allows you to integrate your own blacklists or whitelists of URLs.
Web Access Authentication
Authentication allows you to restrict web access to authenticated users only, thus preventing access by unauthorized users or intruders. It supports LDAP, LDAPS, and Kerberos.
Firewall Gateway
All CacheGuard Gateways embed a stateful firewall with NAT and PAT capabilities to protect PCs, servers, and other connected devices from hostile intrusions. The firewall defends against common network attacks such as, but not limited to, DoS, SYN flood, Smurf, Xmas, and IP spoofing. You can also implement firewall rules based on protocols, IP addresses, ports, and IP attributes.
Integrated PKI
SSL inspection relies on a private CA certificate that should be imported into web browsers to enable SSL mediation. CacheGuard-OS embeds a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) that allows you to easily manage the CA certificate and its associated private key.
CacheGuard Web Gateway is integrated into our core product, CacheGuard-OS. CacheGuard-OS is an appliance-oriented operating system that transforms a virtual or bare-metal machine into a network appliance.
