CacheGuard Forwarding proxy integrates the very well-known Squid proxy. It supports HTTP, HTTPS and FTP at the server side while clients connect using HTTP(S). If you are familiar with Linux (or BSD), firewalls, complex configuration files, all tools around Squid (like SquidGuard, ICAP/ECAP, and many others) and have the time and patience to configure all those tools to match your requirements in terms of capacity and performance, you can probably implement your Web Proxy using directly Squid. Otherwise you can implement CacheGuard UTM & QoS within minutes and start securing and optimizing your networks straight away.
